Gold Medal Winners – Morven & Langskip

Langskip was awarded a Gold Medal and Morven received the top honour of Double Gold Medal at the recent FiftyBest awards.  Here are the judges’ notes on both:

Langskip (gold medal):

Nose: Toffee, butterscotch, caramel, dark chocolate, fudge, candy corn, vanilla, lemon, dried fruit, floral, almond, walnut, oak. (We say – that’s a seriously complex nose!)

Palate: Dark chocolate, vanilla, , honey, berries, cherry, citrus, orange peel, dried fruit, malt, walnut, anise, cloves, cinnamon.

Finish: Caramel, orange peel, lemon zest, malt, roasted cumin, black salt, oak, complex.

Morven (double gold medal):

Nose: Smoky cedar, caramel, sweet lemon, spices, honey, apricot.

Palate: Vanilla, smokey maple, honey, green apple, bell pepper, ginger, truffle, cloves, cream.

Finish: Cream, honey, light peach, cloves, nutmeg, light phenolics, balanced, smooth.

(We say: Morven is now Wolfburn’s best selling expression. And with the flavour profile described above, it’s easy to understand why!)
