

Gold Medal Winners – Morven & Langskip
20 March 2019Langskip was awarded a Gold Medal and Morven received the top honour of Double Gold Medal at the recent FiftyBest awards. Here are the judges’ notes on both:
Langskip (gold medal):
Nose: Toffee, butterscotch, caramel, dark chocolate, fudge, candy corn, vanilla, lemon, dried fruit, floral, almond, walnut, oak. (We say – that’s a seriously complex nose!)
Palate: Dark chocolate, vanilla, , honey, berries, cherry, citrus, orange peel, dried fruit, malt, walnut, anise, cloves, cinnamon.
Finish: Caramel, orange peel, lemon zest, malt, roasted cumin, black salt, oak, complex.
Morven (double gold medal):
Nose: Smoky cedar, caramel, sweet lemon, spices, honey, apricot.
Palate: Vanilla, smokey maple, honey, green apple, bell pepper, ginger, truffle, cloves, cream.
Finish: Cream, honey, light peach, cloves, nutmeg, light phenolics, balanced, smooth.
(We say: Morven is now Wolfburn’s best selling expression. And with the flavour profile described above, it’s easy to understand why!)
