The pin badge is a good quality, small reminder of my visit to Wolfburn.
I've pined them to a couple of my motorbike jackets. As its based on the 16th Century image of a sea-wolf which when seen ,is said to bring good luck.

Aurora

I bought this after an excellent tour and tasting. The Autora and cognac cask finish whiskies were my favourite, although I liked them all! The Aurora is a very smooth and seemingly light but has a gorgeously punchy warm glow as its after taste. It feels like a summer evening dram.
My other favourite was the cognac cask finish whisky. This has a very slight peety edge mixed with the cognac tones which gives it a really warm fulsome flavour with a great brandy after taste. This bottle was polished off during our holiday so we made a return visit for more provisions.

Have just finished our first bottle of this very smooth and tasty brew from Wolfburn Distillery and will be ordering more in the future. Very easy on the pallet with a rich warm afterglow. Perfect as a mid evening tipple.

Fantastic

My hubby and I have done a few distillery tours and this was the best. Maybe because it was small and friendly and actually working whilst we visited. Wlma was so informative and engaging. It really felt like Wlma was proud of the distillery and wanted to show it off. A definate must do.

Great and informative

We went on the Saturday morning tour. It was a good tour and very informatie. We were impressed at the way the distillery still does everything manually. The tasting was great, glad we were walking back to Thurso 😉

Distillery Tour

The tour of the distillery was absolutely top class. I've done a fair few and this one was right up there if not the best! Wilma was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and the tastings were out of this world. The price was also ridiculously reasonable for the quality of the tour and the amount of tasters. Would 100% recommend, and there's something great about seeing a fully independent distillery too!

So oloroso.....

Full maturation in a quality oloroso sherry cask produced a nicely balanced whisky, not overly sherried to allow the spirit to emerge. Very enjoyable, as was the last Christmas release.
Only drawback with this anniversary edition,was the price for a 12 y old but it was a limited bottling. Glad I tried it despite it being close to £100 with p and p.

Sehr tolle Führung. Alles super erklärt. Waren aus unterschiedlichen Ländern, Frankreich und Deutschland und die Erklärungen wurden dementsprechend auch angepasst.
Hatten vorher schon einmal eine die war aber nicht so gut. Das Probieren danach war supergut durften auch noch andere ausser die bereits ausgewählten fünf Probieren.

Very interesting and personal being a small distillery. A good amount of tasting included with friendly and helpful staff . And the whisky's not bad either. Well worth a visit if you are on the NC500 or in Thurso
