THE SMALL BATCH RELEASE NUMBER COMES FROM WAREHOUSE AND STOW NUMBER
Wolfburn’s Small Batch Releases are distilled and matured in limited quantities, resulting in experimental, complex, and interesting flavours that showcase a different side of the distillery.
Batch 177 has been crafted from a combination of spirit matured for eight years in first-fill ex-bourbon hogsheads, married with spirit matured for seven years in first-fill Caribbean rum barrels. The flavour of the resultant whisky is a triumph, combining the smooth sophistication of bourbon maturation with unique sweetness and depth from the rum casks.

The seventh small-batch release from Wolfburn, Batch 458 has been crafted from a 50/50 combination of whisky matured for seven years in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, married with lightly-peated spirit matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. These casks produced 5,100 bottles in total and the result is a rich, sweet single malt with an exceptional depth of flavour.

The sixth in Wolfburn’s small-batch series, Batch 318 has been crafted from a combination of lightly-peated spirit, matured for a little over seven years in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, and spirit matured for seven years in first-fill Bourbon barrels. These casks produced a sweet, rounded, sumptuous whisky with a peerless depth of flavour.

The fifth small-batch release from Wolfburn, Batch 204 was matured for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished for six months in fresh Madeira hogsheads. These casks produced just 5,800 bottles: rich, sweet, and thoroughly easy-going whisky. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we enjoyed making it.

The fourth small-batch release from Wolfburn, Batch 155 was matured for a little over four years in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished for six months in fresh port hogsheads. These casks produced just 5,300 bottles in total and the result is a spectacularly smooth and delectable whisky, with a truly outstanding depth of flavour.

Wolfburn’s third small-batch release has been matured in a unique combination of half-size, first-fill, ex-bourbon barrels and second-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads. Crafted entirely from unpeated spirit this is a sumptuous, rich, sweet-tasting whisky. This is a very special dram indeed.

Batch 270 is the second of the small batch of whiskies released by Wolfburn. Matured in half-size, first fill, ex-bourbon barrels but, unlike its smoky sister Batch 128, this time with unpeated spirit. Non-chill filtered, natural colour, distilled, matured and bottled at Wolfburn Distillery, Thurso.

The first ever small batch whisky released by Wolfburn has been matured in half-size, first-fill, ex-bourbon barrels. Filled with lightly peated spirit, these small casks have created an extraordinarily well-balanced and rounded whisky with a rich depth of flavour and lasting finish. Batch 128 is a rare treat to be enjoyed by the lucky few.
