The smooth and warming flavours present in Northland come from the unhurried way in which the spirit is made, and from the maturation, which takes place in American oak quarter casks. Matured and bottled on site, Northland represents the first chapter in the history of Wolfburn.

Tasting notes

ON THE NOSE – Initially sweet with notes of fruit and fresh sea air. In the background you’ll find citrus freshness and hints of cereal, and just a trace of peat smoke.

ON THE PALATE – Sweet, nutty tones come to the fore, with hints of grapes and honey in the background. Floral flavours abound, enhanced with just a hint of dried fruit and spice. 

FINISH – Soft sweet tones fade gradually away, overlaid with a just a trace of gentle peat smoke at the very end.

Northland-excellent without doubt

Wow! This whisky certainly does not disappoint!The first moment when I opened the bottle was a lightly peated aroma,and when tasted,allowing you to savour the senses on the palate,at the same time enjoying the fruity flavours,very clever!

This is avery impressive young whisky,and in my understanding shows that you are interested

NC500 gift - Wow!

Treated to a surprise bottle on completion of the NC500 earlier this month. Absolutely delicious - it hits all the right notes for me: subtle sweetness with a deeper and warming complexity. A really wonderful whisky.

I,m a great fan of all Wolfburn Whiskies. Northland looks pale and interesting, but don't be put off .It bursts with flavour and depth. A really beautiful whisky
