Pentland Scotch Whisky Liqueur is a premium Scottish whisky liqueur crafted by Wolfburn Distillery using aged single malt scotch whisky and all-natural ingredients. Smooth, sweet and gently spiced, it’s perfect served neat, over ice, or mixed into modern whisky cocktails. Bottled at 26% ABV, non-chill filtered and with no artificial colour, Pentland delivers authentic single-malt character in an approachable, unique style.

ON THE NOSE
Sweet bourbon notes are overlaid with caramel, toffee and pistachio. This is heady stuff – big on sweetness, but without masking the hallmark aromas of Wolfburn’s award-winning whiskies.

ON THE PALATE
Christmas cake and toffee apples meet Madeira wine – an absolutely stunning mouthful. Let the flavours unfurl and you’ll pick up soft nectarous and floral tones, all overlaid with a beautiful, decadent, creamy sweetness.

FINISH
It’s oh-so-sweet, with autumn fruits and vanilla gently fading away, leaving just a trace of caramel at the very end.

Whisky production: Every bottle is monitored from distillation to its final filling and dispatch, ensuring exceptional consistency and quality of taste.

Non-chill filtered and a natural colour: Bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring, preserving the whisky’s true character.

Matured on site: Every cask is matured in Wolfburn’s traditional style dunnage warehouses set by the sea.

Traditional craftsmanship: Whisky made by hand, using age-old methods and modern precision.

Stream flowing through a natural landscape with grass and trees.

Natural Ingredients

Water: Drawn from the Wolf burn, rising from a spring a short distance away, crystal-clear and naturally filtered through Caithness stone.

Malt: Premium, sustainably sourced malt from UK growers. A non-GM and non-GN (Glycosidic Nitrile) variety.

Yeast: Single yeast strain, bottom-fermented to bring out rich, fruity tones.

Fermentation: Long and unhurried – promoting deep, layered flavours before distillation.

Maturation Casks

With a wood policy created to deliver depth of character and balance to every drop, our meticulously sourced casks are filled with either a non-peated or lightly-peated spirit, depending on the season.

1st fill Ex-bourbon barrels from Kentucky

1st and 2nd fill Oloroso sherry butts from Spain

1st fill rum casks sourced from the Caribbean

Custom re-coopered quarter casks from Islay Cooperage in Speyside.

We were well received at this distillery even

We were well received at this distillery even before opening time! I’m not a whiskey drinker but tried the single malt which was like a liquor and it was very good! I bought a bottle to bring back to Canada! The person who had us taste test was very pleasant and personable! Give it a try if you’re in Thurso Scotland!

Expectations were high

Expectations were high. Unfortunately they could not be matched. The Liqueur is not too sweet, that's great. The Whisky is present but a bit flat. I am completely missing the great character of typical Wolfburn whisky. Higher Vol% around 35 to 40 might have been better. Looking forward to the next small batch, where already the announcement sounds great.

Very smooth with lots of flavour, wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but definitely the thumbs up !. Bought as a present for my daughter, we were all impressed .

OK as a mixer, but I find it overly sweet

OK as a mixer, but I find it overly sweet and a bit lacking in the whisky "kick" that I very much like from the Wolfburn Single Malt range. All a matter of personal taste.
